5th Grade Camp
In your opinion, what was the best thing about 5th grade camp? Describe your favorite memory in the paragraph format we discussed in class.
Whoosh! The wind rushed in my face as I sped down the zipline.I started off climbing a metal and wood bars. It was pulled by a red rope, and I was scared to look down. For the first 5 seconds,I felt really scary, and I was twirling out of control. In addition to that, Mr. Jantz was saying," You should see the look on your face." When I got off, I was dancing, because I had acheved my goal of actually going down! I told everyone that was scared that it wasn't THAT scary, and people who had already done it that it was fun, but scary at the same time. The zipline is a fun experience, so when you go to fifth grade camp, try it out too!!! By:Bayley
Preforming skits at the great gathering was a truly awesome experience at 5th grade camp! I loved the skits because everyone did a good and funny job on them. My cabin group and I fractured Cinderella. My best friend,Ashleigh, and I played dogs that turned into horses. I played Demi and she played Selena. Also,I got to work with other people, so I know them better. I would love to be able to do more skits with my cabin because it was very fun and funny!
Friendship was the most amazing part of 5th grade camp. When we were at camp I made a lot of friends! We really wanted to stay friends, and we promised not to yell at each other. THe yellow group,my group, had to practice for our skit and our cheer. When we had our meals we would say what we wated to improve on at breakfast. We would say at dinner what improved on. Somethings we did were we ate together, and tried to be nice to each other.I have never made such amazing friends, and had a lot of fun times with them. By Maddie Geber
I loved everything about camp! The funny things like punch lines that put a smiles on everbody's face. There was a ton of laughing. The fairy tales were mixed up and perfectly executed; they were goofy. The scariest pert was preforming. The smiles on the crowd and the laughter made me feel proud. I kind of wish we had the skits on tape. By Brady Lybarger
the rock climbing wall was the most stupendus thing about camp. there were complacations like the ramps getting to the top and stepping on bad holes. i did not get up all the way the first time but the second time. The hardest part is repeling down i wish i could do it again
The most exciting thing I did at camp was capture the flag. It was cool to go throw aii the secret paths. Attacking the ather side was fun, and it was hard torun every minute. My team put our flag on a hillside and the other team had to climb to get around our team. It tock a iot of strategy to win. I wish we could play at school; we could split up the grades. Chase Hayter
Rock climbing is the best that it gets at fifth grade camp. When we first arrivedat the wall the YMCA staff went over the rules and the harness. The wall was very tall and I didn't think I could do it. As I was climbing, they gave me a few tips on where to put my footing. And then, before I knew it, I was at the top! I was really proud of myself. This was the best experceince I had at at camp.
I was like a bullet when i ran really fast. I felt like Superman. People on my team were exited and happy to play. When we played boys vs girls all the boys yelled yeah. The girls shouted go,Alexa. At first, when we played capture the flag,I felt really sick like my stomach was going to explode.I ran to feel the breeze in my face.
The most stupendous thing at 5th grade camp was the spectacular zipline. I've never been on anything like it before except for space Mountain, but the zipline was still more awsome. I was nervous at first, and I thought"Will i drop? Am i going to get hurt? Will I slip?" But, then, I got on and the wind was swooshing in my face I was excited. I thought nothing could hurt me. I wish that I had a zipline at my house. By Leighton Rickel
Capture the flag: Boom! Bang!Wow!That was a good experience. We had to work together, help each other, and we had to have team spirit to get each other out of jail. We played fair, and made the teams fair. We had to be ten feet away from the jail and the flag. We had to run and run and dive and slide, and be ninja like.I'm going to do that at my house sometime.
My Cabin's skit was Awesome, especially since I had to play a grandma who had a heart attack. When I did the heart attack on stage I grabbed my chest and shouted, "Heart attack!" and it was very funny. I wasn't so happy about being an old woman at first, but it was fun, I even had a caretaker and everything. It was Kaylee Raticliff. And in one part, I asked for an energy drink and pills, which Kaylee gave me,and I went,"Boom! Boom!" Then Kaylee took a flshlight, held it behind my head and said," Firepower!" [they were my mucsles growing.]Then I pulled the intermission people off the stage.I think that playing a grandma is one of the most fun parts you can play at fifth grade camp. As long as you have an energy drink, I'm serious! By Hope Springetti :)
The climbing wall was so totally awsome at the fifth grade camp! When I got up on the top, I saw a perfect view. IT was amazing! There was a bell on the top of the wall. When i rang it, I slapped it. It was very loud! When i was right next to the bell, I was so excited. I was so proud because not many people made it. When i was about three fourths of the way, I was exhausted! I said,"I'm to tired to make it!" The lady holdong the rope said,"Come on! You cant quit now! Just keep going!" I thoght, Fine! I'm glad i didn't quit. That was a very fun time. I wish I could go back in time and rock climb again. Jacob Arnold
Capture the flag was truly the most spectacular thing at 5th grade camp. We had to work together and it was hard and somtimes you got under pressure. In order to get the flag, you had to be fast. I zoomed swiftly. So the other team didn't get the flagwe had to be sneaky so they didn't know where it was. My team tricked them. It was really fun experiencing new things. I wish we played captur the flag at school. by:Alexa vinson
Capture the flag was my favorite part of camp because we had so much room to run around. The first game was the most fun because I tricked the others into thinking I was on their team. They believed it, too. I was so close to grabbing the flag, but they tagged me and I went to jail. When I got out, I helped Alexa. I distracted them and she got the flag and ran to the other side to our team. I really liked where the other team hid the flag. They hid it on this sloped hill in the mud. There were two guards right in front of it. The second game we switched sides. We clamouflaged our flag in this big green bush on a high slope. They hid it there because our flag was green just like the bush. We never found their flag and they found ours and won.The third game was very fun, too. This time it was boys against girls. The boys were running through a ditch to get our flag.It was a draw because we had no time left. After our three games, we stopped. I really want to play this capture the flag again with the whole fifth grade. By Sarah Olsen
Mad science was the most wondful, spectacular, surprise at 5th grade camp.Mostly because of the hovecaft, i thought that was really cool. but it was also really loud, and bumpy. i would know that because i got to go on it everbody did.there wer holes in the bottom because the air from the leaf blower had to come out some way. the other cool part wass caleb's funny vocie;he would never stop. He was cazy and weird and of cause very funny. He also showed us some experiments. My favorite part was when he shoot a golft ball from a leaf blower and almost hit Mr. Jantz. that was cool.Iwish i could go back it was so much fun. By Julie Ritter
My awesome cabin sisters made camp the most amazing experience of my life.
They encouraged me in everything, especially on the zipline. When I was climbing up they said I could do it but I didn't believe them. In the end I did it, I was so proud of myself. We all got along great. We had no problems with eachother. I love being around my cabin buddies.
I wish I could I could relive each moment with them. They made camp the best expierence of my life.
Mad science was a truiy great time at 5th grade camp. Caleb was so funny. He got a hair dryer and turned it on and put the ping pong ball on top of it. The ping pong ball floated in the air. He got a huge leaf blower and shoot it at the parents. We also shocked ourselves and other people. It was fun shocking people. We also got to hover. Caleb got a chair, he turned a leaf blower on, and stuck it in a hole of the hovercraft. We sat on it and we hovered. It was fun. I wish I could go back again. By Tyler Necoechea
Capture the flag was awesome, exept for when I fell into a spicky ,spicky bush. So I went to the flag to guard it which was hard because everyone ran at the same time.So I went to show my ninja reflection to trick them so my team could go around and get them out of jail. by JOSH WEAVER
Mad Science was the most exciting and funiest activity at fifth grade camp. Everybody loved it beacause of the experiments that he did like the hover craft and he even showed us how they make a dinosaur sneeze in the movies. He also got a leaf blower and shot ping pong balls at Mr.Jantz and my friends mom iyt was so funny it was also really loud because of the leaf blower. He also set up stations for us to do there was bulid your own bridge ,and your own house of cards theres also a electricity and a hover craft station. He was really funny he had alot of jokes, great sense of humor and made everybody laugh. I wish he would come back because he was hilarious and really fun. By Taylor Varner
the most spectacular at camp was being with my freinds and doing things like finding rino beetles at camp and chasing deer. I saw a mountain lion with my freind kevin we also saw an owl we started to call to it ho-ho-ho it was really cool we also it was a great horned owl. chase schoof
